I juuuuuust bought this book-what perfect timing!!
Lincoln, what other books have you read that explore “future worlds” like this? I’m very into this genre right now, but it seems like everything in the future fantasy space is more sci-fi/space-centric/dystopian/apocalyptic which I’m not as into... any recs?
Hope you enjoy it! And hmm. If you mean near-future works that don't get too far future or apocalyptic you might enjoy Sequoia Nagamatsu's How High We Go in the Dark. Matt Bell's Appleseed jumps between a few timelines. (My own novel is fairly near future and not apocalyptic imho.)
Ha well yeah I guess that depends on what we mean by apocalypse (it's more focused on humanities grief and morning in the wake of a plague than a Mad Max type scenario.)

Yes thank you, I tried Appleseed but couldn’t get into. Is How High We Go in the Dark not apocalyptic? Doesn’t a virus take over the world? 😂

Great interview! It’s amazing to hear how Vaunini kept at the same novel for years and years. Very encouraging!
