Great interview! It was such a treat because HUM was my favorite read this year and I wondered about many of the things you asked. I found the book not only smart and chilling but also fun and touching—a book about family as much as it was about dealing with our near future. Loved her light touch with worldbuilding.

"Can you talk about why you chose the title Hum?" Titles need to be short and grabby. Hard to get shorter and grabbier : )
