I remember reading and being blown away by "House-Sitting" in some old issue of Tin House-- it inspired my own ghost story much later. This reminds me I should actually read his books! Interesting that he associates the formal techniques he uses so specifically with certain authors. He seems known for being formally innovative, but innovation doesn't seem to be the point for him.
